Hairspray- conversations with my femininity

Hey guys,

I am sending sunshine your way.In today’ s conversation we are delving into hair.

Hair is a thing, right ! Since it’s a thing, we are going to have several conversations for naturalistas, and relaxed hairlistas as well as the drop dead gorgeous bald heads. All of them will be on Justifiedecstasy.

I honestly hope you stick around long enough to hear what they have to say.

The first conversation is a collaboration with a beautiful soul, Omphile Sharon also known as Shaz. Her handle across all social media is @TheeLyricwriter.

Omphile Sharon. M aka Shaz is a Motswana writer and a poet. She lives in Botswana. Shaz is a daughter, sister, wife, friend and most importantly a mother. She blogs at theelyricwriter.wordpress.com and is an avid reader, knowing that reading makes a writer, loves to travel though the budget only allows her backyard! And loves to bake up a storm in the kitchen, while rocking her natural hair in the wind outside.

The Roots on my head is the work of our hands.

SHAZ’S LINES

This is my hair,

Like water, it can be hard.

But

It is beautiful.

PATSY’S LINES

A texture so

Frizzy, curly,kinky, glossy and wavy

harbours unadutered beauty

SHAZ’S LINES

This is my hair,

Sometimes it look nappy

But what it really is

Is authentic.

PATSY’S LINES

Away from the notion,

Of having mainstream hair that is straight

I bear

The authenticity of a militant blank panther

as I

set the pace

in my own race

SHAZ’S LINES

This is my hair,

Neatly and tightly wrapped in

Coils and curls

But it speaks for me.

It is my identity.

This is my hair,

It is thick

It breaks combs too.

PATSY’S LINES

When the coil versus the comb,

Understand that I am a proud kinky hair rebel,

Freedom lives on my scalp.

For the record

SHAZ’S LINES

This is my hair.

The crown that God has adorned me with.

It is that African beauty,

Such strong hair that defies gravity.

Hair that is destined to make more than history.

TOGETHER;

This is my hair,

I am more relaxed being a naturalista.

THE END.

Blessings and Bliss.
